About the multiplication chart 1–20

A 1–20 multiplication chart is the reference version: too dense for early learners, ideal as a wall chart or binder insert for older students working with larger mental products, factors and multiples. The 16, 17, 18 and 19 times tables have no shortcuts, so having them visible beats reciting; and the diagonal of squares runs all the way to 400. If this is too much information, start with the 1–12 chart and move up.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 1–20 chart too much for beginners?

Usually, yes. Start with the 1–12 chart for fluency work; use the 1–20 grid as a reference once the core facts are automatic.

What is 20×20?

400 — the bottom-right corner of this chart, and the largest square number on it.

Does it print on one page?

Yes, it is laid out to stay sharp on a single US Letter or A4 page in portrait.
